Volkswagen wants to change the current positions of Skoda and Seat

Over time, however, Dacia's competitor became more of a competitor of its parent company, Volkswagen , which forced the German concern to act – according to the new strategy, the domestic automaker will move into the higher spheres of the market and at the same time make way for the upcoming low-end brand of Volkswagen itself.

The first piece of a more luxurious tomorrow is, as Skoda boss Winfried Vahland confirmed, the VisionC concept, which the Mladá Boleslav company is presenting at the Geneva Motor Show. The first four-door coupe in the history of the brand offers a more dynamic design , which will also be reflected in other models of the brand, which will be the new Fabia and Superb.

Although Skoda's European sales fell by 2% year-on-year to 921,000 units, while the brand's original marketing plan envisages the sale of 1.5 million cars in 2018 , Skoda is still one of the most successful European divisions of the VW concern. In addition to increasing sales, which are expected to exceed a million units this year, the planned move up also aims to make room for cheap models of the new brand that Volkswagen is preparing.

A clearer definition is also waiting for Seat , which recently burned down during efforts to conquer the Chinese market . A more pronounced focus on Europe is also proven by the fact that last year its sales there increased by 11% to 355,000 units. At the same time, the driving force is the Leon series and, at the moment, especially the Leon ST station wagon. It attracted 20,000 customers within a few weeks of sales. Nevertheless, a return to profitability, which the car company has not been in since the first half of the first decade of the new century , is in sight.
