Infiniti is expanding the range of engines for the Q50 sedan

The Japanese luxury car manufacturer continues to expand the range of engines for its premium sports sedan, so those interested in the Infiniti Q50 will soon be able to start ordering a new powerful and economical turbocharged gasoline engine .

The modern and light turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine has a power of 214 hp and a torque of 320 Nm, which it transfers to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission . A fast- rising torque curve with sufficient thrust already from 1250 rpm contributes to flexible performance and low consumption.

The new gasoline engine with a displacement of 1,991 cm 3 , first presented last November at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China, will be offered to customers in China this spring, followed by European markets in the fall and the rest of Infiniti's global markets before the end of the year.

The 2.0-liter direct-injection gasoline engine is based on the latest Euro 5 fuel-saving technologies and is tuned by Infiniti designers to offer a sufficiently dynamic response to pressing the gas pedal. It completes the range of engines, which has so far included a new 2.2-liter turbodiesel with direct injection and a high-performance hybrid drive system.

In the next five years, Infiniti plans to expand the number of representatives of its model line by 60 percent and more than double the number of power units offered.
