Opel will start installing a new liter three-cylinder in the Adam

The engine range of the small Opel Adam will see a welcome expansion in the coming weeks. Under the hood of the smallest Opel, two versions of the 1.0 Ecotec Turbo three-cylinder gasoline engine are heading.

The new three-cylinder engine, which is based on an aluminum block and also features direct gasoline injection, variable valve timing and a switchable water pump, will be offered in 90 hp or 115 hp versions. Both versions have a maximum torque of 166 Nm available from 1,800 rpm, and Opel also promises exemplary low noise and vibration for both. Both engines are equipped with a new six-speed manual transmission , which weighs only 37 kg, as well as a stop/start system. Under the NEDC methodology, the weaker version has a consumption of only 4.3 l/100 km and emits 99 g of CO2/km.

In addition to the new engine, the range of colors has also been expanded – the body itself has a total of 7 new shades (another 5 colors are to come in the spring), you can choose 4 new shades for the roof. In total, Opel offers Adam with 18 body colors and 6 roof colors. Further individualization is offered by three new seat upholstery fabrics , five new interior decors, two new interior colors , two new colors of the interior rear-view mirror and three new decorative decals for the exterior rear-view mirror covers.
