Volkswagen presented a modernized form of Scirocco

The Geneva Motor Show was originally expected to host the premiere of the significantly updated Scirocco coupe . However, the reality is slightly different – Volkswagen will indeed introduce a facelift, but the appearance changes are few.

The six-year-old coupe received new bumpers at both ends of the vehicle, in the front part we also find a new front mask and modified bi-xenon lights with LED daytime running lights. The trunk lid is new, the rear lights got LEDs. The offer of body paint has been expanded by 5 new options, the wheels in the new design have a size of 17, 18 or 19 inches.

All versions, including the sporty R model, get a new leather-wrapped steering wheel that flattens out at the bottom, and a trio of new alarm clocks with a chronometer, turbo boost pressure and oil temperature indicator sits atop the center console. The instrument panel, like the ventilation outlets, was taken over from the Golf GTI. The equipment includes Dynaudio Excite audio and parking assistant.

The biggest changes took place under the hood – the basic 1.4 TSI unit has a new 125 hp, which means an increase of 3 hp. The two-liter TSI petrol is available in three power variants – 180 hp (+ 20 hp), 220 hp (+ 10 hp) and 280 hp (+ 15 hp) in the top version R . The TDI diesel units have the same volume of two liters and an output of 150 hp (+ 10 hp) or 184 hp (+ 7 hp). All engines are equipped with a six-speed manual and, with the exception of the 1.4 TSI, also an optional six-speed DSG automatic. All versions, except the most powerful version R, are equipped with a start-stop system .
