BMW presented the X3 SUV facelift

When BMW founded the SAV ( Sports Activity Vehicle ) segment in 2003 with the X3 model, it probably had no idea that over a million of these cars would be sold in ten years. Despite this certainly respectable performance, the X3 still needs to be kept in good condition, which is why the modernized version of the second generation arrives.

The appearance of the modernized version is significantly closer to the last generation of the BMW X5 , both in terms of the design of the radiator grille and the design of the headlights and bumpers. After all, they are the main points of the entire facelift . The new X3 will also receive four new body colors and five new alloy wheel designs, and optional xLine packages, including chassis protection or 18- or 19-inch wheels, and M Sport , including an aerodynamic body kit, 18- to 20-inch wheels or a sports chassis.

Thanks to the redesigned front part, the total length of the car has increased by 10 mm (to 4658 mm), but this will not affect the space in the cabin. Similar to the outside, you can also choose from a total of four new upholstery colors and the same number of decorative moldings on the inside. The drink holders are new, the multimedia system has been improved, including the integrated iDrive controller with a touch screen.

Under the hood is a new four-cylinder diesel with a volume of two liters, which produces 190 hp and 400 Nm in the xDrive20d version – 6 hp and 20 Nm more than the predecessor. As for transmissions, this engine is offered with a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic, with the engine consuming just 5.2L/100km with the automatic. The sDrive18d version with 150 hp, 360 Nm of torque and rear-wheel drive has also undergone modifications. In combination with a six-speed manual, it claims 5 l/100 km, the automatic is 0.1 l/100 km thirstier. The other engines remain unchanged – from the petrol units, they are sDrive20i (184 hp), xDrive20i (184 hp), xDrive28i (245 hp), xDrive35i (306 hp), from the diesel versions, the xDrive30d (258 hp), xDrive35d (313 hp) .
