I never liked the Opel Astra Sedan , but the new, upcoming version with the J designation looks really phenomenal! I can judge from the four photos of the car, which will soon join its siblings with hatchback , GTC and Tourer bodies.
The fourth-generation sedan is a typical representative of C-segment family cars. The length of the Astra has grown to 4.65 meters, it is 1.81 meters high and 1.47 meters wide. The wheelbase of 2.68 meters provides sufficient longitudinal interior space for five passengers. The luggage space with a basic volume of 460 liters can be increased to 1010 liters by folding the rear backrests in a 60:40 ratio.
The exhibition premiere will take place in August at the Moscow Motor Show , but customers can already order the Astra Sedan with one of seven engines. Four gasoline units will offer a power range from 74 kW to 132 kW, and three of them can be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. There will also be three diesel versions on offer, two of which can be proud of the epithet ecoFLEX . The four-cylinder 1.7 CDTI engines have an output of 81 kW and 96 kW, thanks to the Start/Stop system we can expect a consumption of around 4 liters of diesel and the production of pollutants up to 100 grams of C0 2 per kilometer driven.
At the beginning of next year, the menu will include a unit that we wrote about earlier . It is a four-cylinder SIDI ECOTEC with a volume of 1.6 liters, which has direct fuel injection and turbocharging. The unit will offer different power levels for most of the Opel and Vauxhall brand portfolio, with a maximum of around 200 horsepower.
