The Toyota GT86 Sedan is expected to arrive in 2016

The Japanese fun coupe Toyota GT86 was presented two summers ago at the Tokyo Motor Show and received a standing ovation. Therefore, it is not surprising that the automaker from the land of the rising sun is toying with the idea of developing the GT86 in the form of a four-door sedan .

According to Motoring 's sources, the Subaru Cross Sport concept hints at a possible form of the production model: "It's easy to move the B-pillar forward, add a rear door and slope the rear of the roof to create a sedan look." The new model is being developed at the automaker under the code name 734A and should have a length of 4750 mm, a width of 1780 mm and a height of 1400 mm. The wheelbase should be around 2750 mm.

With the GT86 Sedan , it can be assumed that the weight will increase compared to the coupe, so it is being considered that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine would receive a turbocharger and the output could thus rise to 224 kW (305 hp) . There is also speculation about a hybrid variant with all-wheel drive. However, we cannot rejoice yet, as the GT86 Sedan has not yet been approved for series production . However, if everything goes well, the premiere could take place at the end of 2016 .
