At the end of July, Toyota released the first photos of the new generation Harrier SUV to the world. Today, we can finally supplement dry photos not only with another set of more dynamic images, but above all with official technical data.
As you already know from the previous article, the Harrier is actually a modified Lexus RX . That is why we may be seeing a new generation of the popular SUV. The appearance itself certainly does not fit in – the aerodynamically shaped radiator grille is atypical. This is complemented by front and rear lights with LED diodes and many other elements that improve the flow of air around the body and thus reduce the consumption of the model. The interior is mainly equipped with a large display of the multimedia system , which occupies practically the entire center console.
Compared to the previous generation, the Harrier grew in length by 15 mm to a total of 4720 mm . The Toyota has a width of 1835 mm, a height of 1690 mm and a wheelbase of 2660 mm. In the basic configuration, 456 liters fit into the trunk, after folding the rear seats this number increases to 992 liters.
At the beginning of sales, only a two-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with a power of 151 hp and a torque of 193 Nm will be used for propulsion. Power is sent exclusively to the front or all wheels by a CVT automatic, with which the Harrier consumes 6.2 l/100 km. From January, a hybrid variant with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor will be available, the combined output of which is 196 hp and a torque of 206 Nm. This model will be exclusively offered with all-wheel drive only.
The base price was set at 2,720,000 yen (approx. 549,000 CZK) for the classic gasoline model and 3,610,000 yen (approx. 728,000 CZK) for the hybrid version.
