Opel wants to import 3 new engines in the next 12 months

The German Opel plans to introduce 3 completely new engines into production together with the licensed Vauxhall . At the same time, it is not just a shot in the arm, but a commitment to be fulfilled in the next 12 months.

The first of them is a four-cylinder from the family of turbocharged gasoline units. The new engine will offer a volume of 1.6 liters, direct fuel injection and a Stop/Start system. More detailed specifications have not yet been published, but unofficial reports speak of a power of up to 149 kW and a torque of 300 Nm. At the same time, the unit should achieve up to 13% lower fuel consumption and pollutant production than was the case with engines produced so far.

The new four-cylinder engine is now undergoing rigorous testing, and the designers cannot praise it enough for its high torque and smooth running. The sixteen-seater should appear in Opel and Vauxhall cars in several power variants, already at the end of this year.
