Production of the Subaru Tribeca is coming to an end

After eight years, the Japanese Subaru will end the production of its largest model – the seven- seater SUV Tribeca . The model was already received very coldly in 2005, when it was shown to potential customers for the first time. Let only 78,000 units sold in eight years of production be the proof.

The cause of such a failure is primarily the appearance of the model . The first units, still sold as the B9 Tribeca , had a very controversial front end with high-slung headlights and a three-piece radiator grille. A facelift , which shortened the name to Tribeca and completely changed the criticized front end, did nothing to change the poor sales.

Production will be completed at the Lafayette, Indiana, USA factory in January of next year , and the last pieces will be handed over to customers in February. In addition to overseas, the Tribeca also tried its luck in Europe, but sales were even poorer than in the model's homeland.

However, Subaru is not giving up and is already preparing a medium-sized SUV with seven seats in its factories, which will partially replace the Tribeca.
