We all still remember the Subaru WRX concept (photo in the gallery) in bright blue, which was meant to foreshadow the development of the brand's design language and the future of its sharp models. However, the new generation WRX model will be much more moderate and will be based on the current Impreza . Unlike the current version, it will not be offered with a hatchback body, only as a sedan .
With the overall tuning, the car will focus on a wider range of customers and will move from an almost rally style to a pure road car . This means stiffer suspension, lower ground clearance and better performance on the road and circuit. Under the hood will be a flat turbocharged four-cylinder with a volume of 2.5 liters , with an expected output of around 265 horsepower and a torque of 400Nm . In time, a more powerful STi variant is also expected, which will use the same engine, but the power will exceed the value of 300 hp .
The new Subaru WRX will be presented later this year, specifically in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show . The car will go on sale in early 2014, with the more powerful STi to follow a few months later.
