AvtoVAZ presented the modernized Lada Priora

AvtoVAZ is slowly starting to produce new models after the transition to Renault . After the second generation of the Kalina model and the new Granta and Largus models, the flagship Lady , the Priora model, has been modernized.

The appearance changes are more than cosmetic – both bumpers are new, the radiator grille is new, the side indicators are new in the rear-view mirrors and, above all, the daytime running light function appears. Three bodies are still available – a classic sedan , a five-door hatchback and a practical Universal station wagon .

However, we register the biggest changes in the interior , where literally no stone was left unturned. The three-spoke steering wheel, seats, center console and instrument panel are new. Lada promises higher-quality and more pleasant-to-the-touch materials , higher quality workshop processing and, above all, a more pleasing design. The center console is no longer just a massive piece of plastic, but is "specialized" with glossy black surfaces or chrome elements. For the very first time, the Priora model has a multimedia system with a seven-inch touch screen that can be connected to a smartphone. In the higher equipment configuration, the display will also include navigation.

Safety has also been worked on – the Priora can be newly equipped with cruise control with a speed limiter, side airbags and a stabilization system. She did not know these elements until now. The doors received reinforced beams, so they can better absorb a possible side impact.

A new top-of-the-line 1.6 engine with 106 horsepower moved under the hood. The unit thus complements older versions of the same engine with eight valves and an output of 81 hp (not for the station wagon), respectively sixteen valves and an output of 98 hp. Standard for all three engines is a five-speed manual transmission , which can be replaced with an automatic transmission at an additional cost, and front-wheel drive.
