New versions of popular pickup trucks from GM

We have already seen the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra duo in classic and luxury versions. What was missing so far were purely working versions labeled HD . After today's premiere, however, even this shortcoming is forgotten.

Both pickups can now be ordered in the 2500 and 3500 HD versions. Apart from the different body design, load capacity (1,953 kg for the 2500 version vs. 3,508 kg for the 3500 version) and the maximum permitted weight of the towed trailer (6,577 kg for the 2500 version vs. 8,890 kg for the 3500 version), the two models differ mainly in the performance of the six-liter Vortec eight-cylinder engine. While the 2500 HD versions have 326 hp and 515 Nm of torque, the 3500 HD versions have 364 hp and the same 515 Nm of torque. The gearbox used is the same – a six-speed automatic Hydra-Matic . For an additional fee, in addition to conventional gasoline, this unit can also burn compressed natural gas. As an alternative to the gasoline engine, the 6.6 Duramax diesel eight-cylinder with a power of 402 hp and a maximum torque of 1073 Nm is on offer. The diesel is mated to an Allison six-speed automatic .

The design changes when comparing the GMC and Chevrolet mirror those of the regular models. So it means that the Sierra looks more luxurious at first glance and offers a different grille, bumpers or lights. In addition, the GMC Sierra HD is also available in a luxury Denali version , which Chevrolet cannot offer. The interior of both models is equipped with the MyLink system as standard.
