There will be a revolution at Ferrari, turbo fashion is coming

The current time for motoring is not the best, especially because of stricter emission limits issued not only by the European Union. In practice, this means that all car manufacturers are being pushed to replace naturally aspirated engines with turbocharged ones. Surprisingly, Ferrari is also preparing for such an action.

The Maranell brand is known primarily for its naturally aspirated eight- and twelve-cylinder power units, but all good things must come to an end. At the beginning of this year, a video also appeared on the Internet showing a test prototype of the new California , and from the sound it seemed that the engine had a turbocharger . Perhaps it will be the pioneer of a new " fashion ". Current models will offer non-turbocharged engines for now, but that should change, according to the American newspaper, within the next few years .

It is almost certain that turbocharging the Ferrari models will provide better fuel consumption as well as more power, but what effect will this have on the character of the "Maranello horses"? If we take a look at history, we will find that the famous F40 had a twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder, while its successor, the F50 , had a naturally aspirated twelve-cylinder. Neither representative was bad at all, but the F50 has a much more aggressive sound .

The Italian brand Ferrari is forced to switch to turbo engines not only by emission standards, but also by changed regulations in Formula 1 . Starting next season, the 2.4 -liter naturally aspirated engines will be replaced by supercharged 1.6 -liter six-cylinder engines. Ferrari is known to put technology derived from Formula 1 into its classic models, so the information mentioned above makes sense.
