The Mercedes-Benz car company plans to launch two would-be coupes in the field within a few years! These will be cars based on the ML and GL models, and we have the first information for you.
Among the premium car companies, BMW was the first to enter the so-called SUV coupe segment with the X6 model based on the successful X5 . The Munich-based manufacturer is now working on a smaller version called the X4 , and the arrival of the top-of-the- line X7 is also likely. Audi is working on similar models, so naturally Mercedes-Benz does not want to be left out of the game.
Some time ago, there was talk of the MLC model, which would be based on the ML SUV (photo in the gallery) and offer a sportier and more elegant, yet less practical appearance. Currently, MLC is already a sure thing and Mercedes-Benz is working on its development.
Information about a similar style model based on the larger GL (photo in the gallery) is emerging. The resulting car would receive a body similar in shape to the CLS Shooting Brake , new bumpers, headlights and a radiator grille. The interior is supposed to be even more luxurious than the default GL .
We will have to wait for the technical details of both cars, as well as their appearance. The MLC model is expected to arrive in 2015, with the larger GLC likely to follow a year later.
