Toyota will show a "mysterious" concept called the Hybrid-R in Frankfurt . However, anyone who would have expected a harbinger of a new Supra or an upcoming small coupe would be wrong. Thanks to new trailers, we know that the Hybrid-R is based on the small Yaris .
But it's not so much about the car as it is about its drive. It will be equipped with a hybrid system , similar to the one in the TS030 Hybrid racing model. The conventional internal combustion engine will be supplemented by an electric motor, while the entire system will have a power of around 400 horsepower !
And while we probably won't see a similar Yaris in production form, a hybrid unit almost certainly will. In the final form, we will also get the ability to switch between racing and road mode. So how about a unit for the new Supra ?
