Cadillac is planning a new flagship sedan

In recent years, there has been quite a lot of talk about Cadillac's flagship sedan , but no one from the car company's management has directly confirmed this car. Only now has the head of General Motors let it be known that the ultimate Cadillac is really coming.

The American Cadillac lacked a proper flagship that would compete with the German BMW 7 series or the Mercedes-Benz S class for a good number of years. The largest sedan in the offer is currently the XTS model (photo in the gallery) with front-wheel drive.

GM CEO Dan Akerson confirmed to the USA Today media that the new flagship sedan will arrive within two years . The design will be based on recent innovations and concepts of the brand, thus adopting the proven language of Art and Science . As far as technology is concerned, the platform will come from the smaller sedan CTS , so the top Cadillac will have rear-wheel drive , while the option of all-wheel drive will also appear in the menu.

Personally, we have nothing against the Cadillac XTS , but it never represented the ultimate brand essence for us, and its front-wheel drive turned us off all the more. That's why we're thrilled that a full-fledged flagship has been confirmed and can't wait for its premiere.
