Over the past two years, the Japanese Mazda has rejuvenated almost all of its models in the form of a facelift or a completely new generation. Now it's the turn of the smallest model 2 , and we bring you the first information and a photo of the likely appearance.
A scanned image from a Japanese magazine appeared on the Japanese website Minkara . It shows the new generation Mazda2 . However, this photo has not yet been confirmed as official, so it is possible that we are looking at just a computer render. If that's the case, we expect the actual appearance to be very similar, given the design of other current Mazdas.
As far as the technology of the new product is concerned, the car will reportedly be based on a shortened CX-5 SUV platform. According to some speculations, this could mean that a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine will also appear under the hood of the smallest Mazda. However, we don't see that very likely, but if it really happens, we probably won't see this version in Europe. A more realistic assumption is the installation of a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine . It goes without saying that modern Skyactiv technology is used, which should ensure excellent weight and low consumption.
