Audi will celebrate the anniversary with the successor to the Sport Quattro

The original Audi Sport Quattro was built according to the given regulations for racing purposes in the legendary Group B rally , where it first appeared in 1984. The Ingolstadt carmaker will soon celebrate the 30th anniversary of the launch of the legendary special. And the celebration will be really spectacular, as Audi wants to present the successor to the Sport Quattro .

According to the German newspaper AutoZeitung , the planned successor will be much sportier than the Quattro concept from 2011. It is also expected to include a variety of lightweight elements such as carbon-reinforced plastic (CFRP), aluminum or magnesium. If that happens, the new Audi Sport Quattro could weigh around 1300 kg .

Concept study Quattro from 2011 has under the hood a 2.5 -liter five-cylinder TFSI with a power of 408 horsepower and a torque of 480 Nm. However, the newly prepared successor could have a 4.0 -liter twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder engine with an output of 650 horsepower. With these horsepower, the acceleration to 100 would take place in 3.4 seconds .

In addition to all the mentioned things, the new Audi Sport Quattro will also offer carbon-ceramic brakes, sports suspension with adaptive dampers or all-wheel drive with a rear differential. The starting price of the successor to the Sport Quattro is estimated at 115,000 Euros (about 2.96 million crowns in conversion).
