Nissan modified the 1.5 dCi engine under the hood of the Juke crossover

The extravagant Nissan Juke was not to everyone's taste at its premiere. After a few years of sales, however, you have to give Nissan credit, because judging by the numbers, they really hit the nail on the head . Almost half of the sales of the small crossover are accounted for by the 1.5 dCi diesel unit , which has undergone a partial modernization.

It brought new piezoelectric fuel injector nozzles, which have more precise fuel injection for better diesel combustion, more precise and more sensitive turbocharger geometry and more efficient air intake. In addition, every model equipped with this unit will receive a Stop-Start system , which should be able to start the engine within 0.5 seconds after depressing the clutch. The transmission received a shorter first and second gear, which guarantees faster reactions at lower speeds, and on the contrary, the remaining four gears have been lengthened, which helps to make better use of the torque.

All these changes result in an increase in torque by 20 Nm and a reduction in consumption by 0.6 l/100 km . In the language of numbers, this means a maximum torque of 260 Nm, with 80% of this value already available at 1500 rpm. Consumption dropped from 4.8 l/100 km to 4.2 l/100 km, CO2 emissions were also improved.

The other parameters are the same – power 110 hp , maximum speed 175 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.2 seconds.
