Porsche has prepared the testing of the new Panamera S E-Hybrid

The Porsche car company organized a Porsche Plug-in Hybrid technical workshop at Hockenheim with the luxury limousine Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid for renowned world media.

In 42 test drives with a total length exceeding 1,200 km, the car achieved an average consumption of only 4.4 l/100 km . The Panamera S E-Hybrid provides a total output of 416 hp , can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 270 km/h.

The best result for this first plug-in hybrid car in the luxury segment was 2.8 l/100 km. These tests showed that in practice the values reported by the official measurement methodology can be achieved – in the case of the Panamera S E-Hybrid, this parameter has a value of 3.1 l/100 km. In addition, these results were achieved in four test cars in which three or four people were present inside, the air conditioning was switched on and speeds of up to 230 km/h were achieved on the highway section.

The test circuit , with a total length of 28.7 km, led through the municipality of Hockenheim with a length of 6.5 km of urban traffic, then continued on 9.2 km of district roads and ended with 13 kilometers of driving on the German Autobahn with an unlimited speed limit. The prerequisite for achieving such remarkable results was the possibility of continuously recharging the car's lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 9.4 kWh from an external electrical network.

In practice, after recharging the battery, it is possible to cover up to 36 kilometers on pure electric drive with a consumption of 0.0 l/100 km and no local production of CO₂ emissions. This operating mode does not only work on test roads when measuring standardized consumption, but is also ready to work in a real environment. This was also evident during test drives with an average speed of 54 km/h , while in standardized tests an average of only 33 km/h is reached.
