New Vauxhall VXR8 GTS

It wasn't so long ago that we were gushing over special models from the Australian Holden or its HSV division on our website. After a few weeks, we have the possibility of melting again, and what's more, we don't even have to go to the other end of the planet for the car!

It is enough to dock in England, specifically at the Vauxhall car company. The latter will soon launch the sports sedan VXR8 GTS , which is derived from the above-mentioned HSV with the designation GEN-F GTS.

Both have a heart in common – a turbocharged eight-cylinder LSA with an output of 584 hp and a torque of 738 Nm. Dynamic values are still being kept secret by the automaker, but there is speculation about acceleration to 96 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a maximum of 250 km/h. But what we know for sure is the range of gearboxes. It includes a pair of six-speed gearboxes – one manual and one automatic. Power is then always sent to the rear wheels.

The chassis of the new model received magnetic shock absorbers with three stiffness modes – Touring, Sport and Track. Behind the head of the shift lever are alarm clocks that even work in four modes – Touring, Sport, Track and Performance. Through them, for example, traction control, stabilization, launch control, power steering or brake dosing can be set and controlled.

In terms of styling, the VXR8 GTS primarily features twenty-inch wheels with 255/35 front and 275/35 rear tires. Aluminum, six-piston brake calipers are hidden behind the wheels. There are also sporty bumpers, LEDs for daytime running lights, a rear spoiler, a diffuser or proper exhaust tips. Inside, look for sports seats, for example.

The basic price of the novelty is 54,999 pounds (approx. 1,662,000 CZK), which is several hundred thousand less than in the case of the BMW M5 or Mercedes E63 AMG. So if you're thinking about a fast sedan, it might be worth a trip to Britain…
