Renault is developing competition for the Passat and Insignia

According to recent reports, Renault is considering the development of a new sedan that would compete with the Volkswagen Passat and Opel Insignia . No further details are known yet, but the model should be conceptually based on the Renault Latitude . The car has not yet been approved for production, but it is speculated that it could start in 2016.

Stehen Norman , the brand's marketing director, commented on the car as follows: "We cannot let the Passat reign in its segment. Fifty percent of the upper middle class car market is in Great Britain and Germany. If we want to succeed in the market, we have to succeed in these countries.”

Currently, the car company is developing a new generation of Renault Laguna , the production of which could start in 2015. The car should appear in the offer as a sedan and a liftback.
