The Porsche 911 GT2 will return in 2014

The German car manufacturer Porsche has decided to give the development of a new generation of the super powerful beast 911 GT2 (991) a break. This supersport will once again become the most extreme that you can buy from Porsche.

As the name suggests, the GT2 version will be built on the basis of the current generation of the 911, which is designated by the number 991. The new 911 GT2 will be based on the current version of the Porsche 911 Turbo S. Under the hood sits a 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 560 horsepower (412 Kw). Again, only the rear axle is expected to be driven, and the engine will cooperate with the PDK dual-clutch gearbox.

The new Porsche 911 GT2 is to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show and should have a lot of useful technology, such as a new active rear wheel steering system. Unofficial reports speak of the car accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 320 km/h.

The Porsche 911 GT2 should go on sale early next year, according to the automaker's plans. For those who might find the GT2 version still "dry", the Porsche developers have prepared a literally fiery variant called the Porsche 911 GT2 RS ! It will provide 630 horsepower (463 kW) and the maximum speed should reach 340 km/h.
