News about the new generation Renault Mégane

One of the most important models of the Renault car company will see a new generation already in the autumn. The new Mégane will be heavily influenced by the smaller Clio or Capture and aims to take down the new Golf .

Laurens van den Acker is again in charge of the design. The Méganu will have a characteristic face, but some elements will be taken from the smaller Clio. As can be seen in the successful illustrations, it will mainly be a rendering of the front mask and headlights . Nevertheless, Renault claims that it does not want radical changes in Mégane. So we'll see.

As with the current model, the novelty will retain the offer of at least three bodies – a five-door hatchback, a "coupe" and a station wagon. Under the hood will appear the latest units that Renault offers. The basis will be a supercharged three-cylinder 0.9 tCe , which will be aimed directly against the 1.0 EcoBoost engine in the Ford Focus. The offer will also include a more powerful version of the tCe engine with a volume of 1.2 liters and a power of around 120 hp.

The specialty will be, as now, the RS version . Following the model of the smaller Clio, it will get one of the turbocharged engines under the hood and mainly only the EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission , without the option of a manual counterpart.

The world premiere of the new Mégane will take place in September in Frankfurt , where it will compete directly with the French rival from Peugeot for the favor of customers. Half a year later, in Geneva, the expected hatchback from Nissan with the old name Almera will also be launched based on the Megane.
