The modernized Honda Odyssey has a revolutionary new feature

The Honda Odyssey is a lesser-known car for us Europeans, as it is only sold on the Japanese and American markets. And it was at this year's New York Auto Show (March 29 – April 7) that it revealed the modernized fourth generation of the Japanese MPV, which boasts one first.

At the exhibition center in New York, the Odyssey with the designation Touring Elite was presented, which is a special equipment level that will primarily offer the HondaVAC system – basically, it is a built-in vacuum cleaner in the trunk. The cleaning helper does not need a 220V outlet because it has an electric motor that allows it to work without interruption as long as the engine is running. If the engine is turned off, the helper can vacuum for another 8 minutes . This gave the brand absolute first place .

Furthermore, in the Touring Elite equipment, we will discover the Hondalink information system with a seven-inch display, keyless start, a system against leaving the driving lane and before a frontal collision. Honda has claimed that the facelifted Odyssey has a sleeker and more refined look, but in reality the changes are said to be minimal. Subtle modifications were made to the hood, front fenders, mask, and the fog lights now feature chrome trim. The 2014 model year Odyssey also boasts dual-tone door mirrors, LED taillamps and darker headlights.

The Japanese brand did not mention anything about engines, so it looks like the 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine with 248 horsepower will remain under the hood, which will be transmitted to the front wheels using a five-speed or six-speed automatic transmission.
