Changes for Volvo V40 and V40 Cross Country

Expanding the availability of all-wheel drive on the Cross Country model and further reducing CO 2 emissions – these are the main news when it comes to the Volvo V40 drivetrain for the 2014 model year. Those interested in the successful V40 can also order the new Sensus Connected Touch system with unique on -line functions.

From May 2013, in addition to the T5 (254 hp) and T4 (180 hp) versions, the Volvo V40 Cross Country can be equipped with an all-wheel drive system that improves the car's capabilities on all types of roads and in all weather conditions. For the standard version V40 D2 (115 hp) with manual transmission, CO 2 emissions are reduced to just 88 g/km, which corresponds to a fuel consumption of just 3.4 l/100 km . The corresponding values (preliminary) for the V40 Cross Country model with the D2 engine are thus 99 g/km (3.8 l/100 km). The V40 D2 model can also be equipped with an automatic transmission on request. CO 2 emissions (preliminary value) for the standard version reach values of 102 g/km (3.9 l/100 km) and for the Cross Country version 108 g/km (4.1 l/100 km).

Volvo Cars is also expanding its range of direct-injection petrol engines with a new 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine. The T2 engine for the Volvo V40 has a power of 120 hp and a torque of 240 Nm. CO 2 emissions for the version with a manual transmission are 124 g/km (preliminary value), which corresponds to a fuel consumption of 5.3 l/100 km .

The all-new Sensus Connected Touch system enables in-vehicle connectivity and Internet connectivity, and thanks to infrared scanning, it turns the 7-inch display into a state-of-the-art touch screen that can be operated even with gloves , which is not only a world first among cars, but also an extremely practical feature in winter!
