It is 2005 and the German car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is toying with the idea of adding a small SUV to the Smart portfolio. Then a sketch of the mentioned model was published, which was given the working name ForMore . Unfortunately, all plans went wrong and the SUV was swept off the table.
However, approximately eight years have passed and Mercedes-Benz is reversing its decisions and at the same time showing everyone that the slogan " never say never " is paying off. For now, no specific information has been revealed, but we can expect a higher ground clearance or protective plastics on the bumpers and fenders. It is quite possible that we will also see all-wheel drive , but for some extra charge.
The new small SUV will be based on the second-generation ForTwo model , which will be presented later this year and will go on sale in the first half of 2014. The future Smart ForMore should be revealed during 2016, but this is a speculative date.
