Volkswagen presented an electric version of the Up!

During the Geneva Motor Show , but completely outside of Palexpo , Volkswage n revealed its first truly serial electric model . Based on the urban model Up! and has an alleged range of 150 km.

To drive a small e-up! u is powered by an electric motor with an output of 82 hp and a maximum torque of 210 Nm. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 14 seconds and the speedometer needle stops at 135 km/h.

Lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 18.7 kWh are located under the floor and allow the electric Up! to have a maximum range of 150 km . Volkswagen says it only takes 30 minutes to charge the batteries to 80% capacity. Volkswagen has not yet stated the weight of the batteries themselves, but the car equipped with them weighs 1185 kg.

In appearance, the e-Up! you can tell by the LEDs for daytime running lights , the aerodynamically optimized chassis, thresholds and the entire front part or the new design of fifteen-inch alloy wheels. Inside it has an e-Up! new upholstery and a few details in leather and chrome.

A closed group of people with e-up! will show this evening during the annual press conference in Wolfsburg, the common mortal must wait for September's Frankfurt Motor Show .
