Honda CR-V with a new economical engine

Today's world is a bit twisted. You will find a turbocharged three-cylinder in cars of the lower middle or even upper middle class, the Ford Mustang will get a four-cylinder and Honda tries to save as much as possible with a large SUV .

In order to do so, it installed a fuel-efficient 1.6 i-DTEC diesel engine, which has its origins in the Civic, inside the CR-V model . In the SUV, it has a power of 120 hp at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 300 Nm at 2000 rpm. In combination with a six-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive (the only possible combination), the CR-V emits only 119 g of CO2/km.

Honda achieved such a value mainly thanks to the use of its Earth Dreams technologies. Thanks to it, the CR-V has, for example, a standard start/stop system or ECON mode, which adjusts the response to the gas pedal and thus improves driving economy.

According to Honda, the 1.6 i-DTEC unit is the lightest engine in its class. It weighs only 47 kg . The first customers will be able to see for themselves the balance of the entire car before the beginning of the summer.
