Ford introduced the extended version of the Tournea Connect to Europe

Ford wants to play on the feelings of families in Geneva . After the introduction of the Tourneo Courier MPV, another piece is being added to the small MPV segment. The Ford Grand Tourneo Connect is making its European debut at the motor show.

Compared to the classic Tourneu Connect, its Grand version is longer (4.42 m vs. 4.82 m) and has a 400 mm longer wheelbase. The increase in dimensions will be noticed mainly by the passengers behind the driver, because they fit in three rows and up to seven people can travel in the car at the same time. Another advantage is the huge luggage compartment when the seats are folded down. According to Ford, this surface should be completely flat.

Five engines will appear under the hood. The diesel units are represented by the 1.6 TDCi Duratorq (55, 70 or 85 kW), the petrol units are represented by the award-winning 1.0 EcoBoost unit (74 kW) and its larger sibling, the 1.6 EcoBoost combined with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Sales of the Grand version, as well as its shorter brother, will begin at the end of 2013 .
