More news from Volkswagen in Geneva

We have already presented the main novelties of the Volkswagen car manufacturer in Geneva ( XL1 , Golf GTI , Golf GTD , Golf Variant , Cross Up! ) in separate articles. However, we still have a lot of news left , which, although they are not on the same level as the ones mentioned above, should not escape our attention .

The first novelty is the economical Golf TDI BlueMotion . It has a newly developed 110 hp TDI engine under the hood, which works with a specially adapted six-speed gearbox. In cooperation with other design (15 mm lower ground clearance, roof spoiler, ecological mask) and technical changes (start/stop system, tires with lower rolling resistance), the TDI BlueMotion consumes only 3.2 l/100 km and emits only 85 g CO2/km.

The Golf TGI BlueMotion is even more economical. It runs on conventional gasoline or CNG . The TGI has a specially modified 1.4 TSI engine with a power of 110 hp , which cooperates with a six-speed manual (DSG automatic for an extra charge). The Golf TGI with a manual will run 420 km on gas (consumption 3.5 kg/100 km), on the classic natural it will add another 940 km (consumption 5.3 l/100 km). If you choose the automatic , the Golf consumes only 3.4 kg of CNG/100 km or 5.0 l/100 km. The hatchback will be available from the summer, the station wagon will be added in the fall.

The R-Line concept plays on a slightly sportier note than the aforementioned models. It was introduced not only as a hatchback , but also as a station wagon for the first time. Both models have 18-inch wheels, GTI-style sports bumpers, a rear diffuser with modified exhaust tips, a roof spoiler and Nappa leather in the interior. Under the hood is a diesel 2.0 TDI with a capacity of 150 hp , which cooperates with 4Motion all-wheel drive.

The latest new Volkswagen is the Jetta Hybrid sedan . It offers a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 150 hp TSI gasoline engine and a 20 kW electric motor . The system works with a seven-speed DSG automatic and consumes 4.1 l/100 km, which means CO2 emissions of 95 g/km. The Jetta can also drive purely on electricity up to a speed of 70 km/h and a maximum distance of 2 km.
