Volkswagen introduced the Golf in a station wagon version

A total of six new Golfs were prepared by Volkswagen for the Geneva Motor Show. The most important thing is the new generation of the Golf Variant , which wants to impress mainly with its large luggage space.

In terms of design , the Variant probably won't dazzle. The rear part is definitely more elegant and sportier than its predecessor, but I still don't like the front part. Inspiration from the Volkswagen Passat is visible.

Be that as it may, the Variant is 307 mm longer than the Golf in the hatchback version. This means a length of 4562 mm. This is reflected not only in the intergenerational increase in the luggage compartment (from 505 to 605 litres , after folding the seats from 1495 to 1620 litres), but also in the increase in the wheelbase (2636 mm) and thus the space in the rear seats.

Proven units from the hatchback will appear under the hood – 1.2 TSI (85 and 105 hp), 1.4 TSI (122 and 140 hp), 1.6 TDI (105 hp) and 2.0 TDI (150 hp). There will also be a super-efficient TDI BlueMotion version, which has a power of 110 hp and in combination with a six-speed gearbox, the Variant consumes only 3.3 l/100 km and emits 87 g of CO2/km. In addition to front-wheel drive, the Variant will also offer 4Motion all-wheel drive .
