Volksawgen will show a sporty version of the Polo in Geneva

Volkswagen showed some time ago that the Polo doesn't necessarily have to be just a boring TDI diesel. At a private event in December of last year, he revealed the sharp Polo R WRC Street , which shares some elements with the special one designed for racing tracks. You might be wondering why write about him now? Well, because it will have its public premiere in Geneva in a few days.

Visually, the Polo impresses with its white paint with blue and gray stripes , WRC-style bumpers, a rear spoiler and eighteen-inch wheels. The interior will get sports seats, Alcantara upholstery and aluminum pedals.

Under the hood, the Polo R WRC Street boasts a 2.0 TSI engine with a maximum power of 220 hp and a maximum torque of 350 Nm. Thanks to a six-speed manual transmission and a weight of only 1324 kg , the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, reaches a maximum speed of 243 km/h and consumes 7.4 liters of fuel per 100 km.

Volkswagen limited the production of this model to only 2,500 units , each of which will cost 33,900 euros (approx. 870,000 CZK). Customers will receive the first deliveries in September this year.
