With the EcoSport small SUV, Ford has been making things expensive for quite a few months. First, the car was shown in Brazil, and then headed to Asia, specifically India and China. In Paris during the press days, selected media finally saw the EcoSport in Europe, but only now is the real European specification of the model on the market.
Ford presented it unconventionally outside the main world motor shows in Barcelona , on the occasion of the Mobile World Congress. The main reason for such a premiere is the Ford SYNC multimedia system , which appears in the EcoSport. Its functions can be controlled by voice after pairing with a mobile phone.
Even other details of the 4,241 mm long and 1,696 mm high SUV were not kept by Ford. First of all, he published the European range of engines. The basis will be a supercharged three-cylinder 1.0 EcoBoost with a capacity of 125 hp, which is complemented by an atmospheric gasoline four- cylinder 1.5 with a capacity of 110 hp and a diesel four-cylinder 1.5 TDCi with a capacity of 90 hp.
The design of the car does not dazzle, on the other hand, it does not offend. Fortunately, for Europe, Ford has chosen a few inches larger wheels, so they don't look as drowned as in some other markets. In the interior, the kinship with the Fiesta is clearly visible, with which, among other things, the EcoSport also shares a platform. According to unconfirmed speculations, the first clients will not get to the EcoSport until next year at the earliest, but it will be possible to touch it in 14 days in Geneva .
