Volkswagen will launch a plug-in hybrid Golf

The exposure of some Volkswagen Group brands will be very green. And it is the parent car company that will lead the trend. After the serial form of the XL1 concept and the diesel Golf GTD , it will also launch a plug-in hybrid Golf .

It will take over the complete powertrain from another green novelty of the concern for Geneva – the Audi A3 e-tron . So it means a 102 hp electric motor in combination with a 150 hp 1.4 TFSI gasoline unit . The total output of the entire hybrid system is 204 hp and the maximum torque is 350 Nm.

The transmission of power to the front wheels and further to the road is handled by the six-speed dual-clutch transmission eS tronic . According to published technical data, the Golf Plug-in Hybrid accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and in combination consumes only 1.5 liters of gasoline per 100 km. Maybe there will also be driving only on electricity at a maximum speed of 130 km/h and for a period of 50 km.
