Volkswagen Beetle Design – Herbie's grandson from Zvolen

Movie cars are sometimes better known than the film in which they first appeared. Stars like KITT, Eleanor, General Lee or the Mustang GT390 from the movie Bullitt's Case will hopefully be remembered by our children. However, there are also cases in modern film history that do not have an easy time with popularity.

Hand on heart – who among you still remembers the red dinghy with a yellow roof from the movie "If we get angry, we'll be mean"? It's quite possible that Herbie – a rusty 1963 Volkswagen Beetle that enjoyed its glory days alongside a young Lindsey Lohan in the movie "My Beetle" – would have done the same.

However, the employees of the Auto Unicom car showroom from the Slovak Zvolen should not come up with a great idea. On the occasion of the introduction of the new generation of the Volkswagen Beetle , they took the white beetle in the middle Design trim, put it on 17" retro wheels and disguised it in their own image. Thanks to their own initiative, they got their hands on an original body sticker, which they then spent many hours applying to the car. The result is a faithful copy of the movie Herbie, who proudly pays tribute to his 49-year-old forefather.

Under the hood of the stylish Beetle beats a 1.6-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with a maximum power of 77 kW and a torque of 250 Nm. The modern unit with direct injection of Common Rail fuel claims an average of 4.5 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers and when the situation allows, it can accelerate the cute coupe to 180 km/h. Engine power is transmitted to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.

Yes, there is only one original, but it's now on display somewhere in a museum or forever locked away in Lindsey Lohan's room of faded memories. But the important thing is that you can have its only modern copy in your garage! The grandson of the movie Herbie is for sale at the Auto Unicom showroom for just under 17,000 euros.
