The Mazda 5 is definitely not one of the best sellers in its category or brand. Nevertheless, Mazda preferred a decent modernization to something radical.
The modernization is so subtle that a normal person who is not familiar with Mazda's offer has no chance to recognize the changes. For the new model year, the MPV received mirrors with integrated LED indicators and three new colors – Zeal red, Jet black and Meteor grey. So many changes to the exterior.
The interior boasts new seat upholstery , piano lacquer on the instrument panel and lighting in the glove box in front of the passenger. The list of standard equipment was expanded by a USB port , and the list of extras was expanded by a parking camera at the back and an interior mirror with automatic dimming.
The technology has not changed – there are still three engines on offer ( 1.8 MZR, 2.0 MZR and 1.6 MZ-CD ). However, Mazda says that by replacing the classic spare with a tire repair kit, it has reduced the weight of the vehicle and thus also the fuel consumption.
The automaker has not yet announced when the modified Mazda 5 will go on sale, but depending on the extent of the changes, it will be without any major fanfare.
