Audi has expanded the offer of the sharp version of the S3 to include the Sportback

Anyone who would miss a spacious and at the same time fast lower middle class Audi in their garage now has a chance to get one. Audi has, as expected, expanded the range of the S3 version to include a more practical Sportback variant.

The three-door version , introduced last year in Paris, offered rather modest changes in appearance, and the Sportback also adheres to this. The design is actually exactly the same, only the pair of doors, a 35 mm longer wheelbase and silver roof rails … So I will only repeat myself if I write that the S3 Sportback will offer a chrome radiator grille, a sportier front bumper, sill extensions, new mirror covers, a double tailpipe and decent rear spoiler. The interior will offer sports seats in combination with a steering wheel and aluminum decor on the center panel.

Even under the hood, it's the same fairy tale – a turbocharged four-cylinder with a volume equal to two liters with an output of 300 hp and a maximum torque of 380 Nm. The transmissions – 6-speed manual or dual-clutch S Tronic automatic – and Quattro all-wheel drive have also been preserved. . Acceleration is expected to be 0.2 s slower (5.6 s) than with the shorter version. But only in the case of the manual. The automatic accelerates to 100 km/h in exactly 5 seconds, beating the shorter version by 0.1 seconds!

However, the maximum speed is equally limited to 250 km/h for all variants. The standard consumption of the S3 Sportback is 6.9 l/100 km with an automatic or 7.0 L/100 with manual. Of course, it wasn't just about the engine, so the S3 Sportback offers better brakes, a 25mm lower chassis and revised steering.
