The Volkswagen Passat CC Shooting Brake is in development

The British magazine AUTOCAR managed to obtain information directly from the management of Volkswagen , according to which another variant of the Passat model is being prepared in the future. The novelty will bear the name CC Shooting Brake and will try to compete with the hot CLS Shooting Brake from Mercedes. We should expect a larger portion of style and a variety of equipment that no other variant of the Passat will offer.

The new Volkswagen Passat CC Shooting Brake will be based on the modern MQB chassis platform, which enables the use of 4Motion all-wheel drive. This would make the CC Shooting Brake even more useful. The car should be characterized by light body parts and low fuel consumption. According to the information, it will have a length of 4.9 meters and a basic volume of the luggage compartment of 570 liters .

The well-known 1.4 TSI and 1.8 TSI engines should appear under the hood, while the 2.0 TDI engine with different performance variants will not be left out. The plan is also to deploy a 1.6 TDI diesel engine, which could have double turbocharging. The highlight of the offer could be a gasoline atmospheric six-cylinder with a volume of 3.6 liters and a power of over 300 horsepower .

The Volkswagen Passat CC Shooting Brake should be presented at the end of 2014. The start of sales can therefore be expected at the beginning of 2015. We cannot even speculate about its prices for the time being.
