Supra will probably return to the scene again!

During 2017, we really have a lot waiting for us, not that a lot of new models are coming, but we will mainly see the successors of Japanese legends . Specifically for this year, the new Mazda RX-7 is announced , which will replace the current RX-8 and will apparently receive a traditional Wankel . The next generation of the Nissan GT-R is also planned, and the new Toyota Supra will probably also arrive , about which we now have some new information.

Although there are still about four years left until the launch of the mentioned models, a secret source has already revealed new facts about the upcoming Supra model. A 2.5 -liter turbocharged four-cylinder could appear in the engine compartment, which would cooperate with an electric motor, and therefore it would (unfortunately) be a hybrid. The total output of the hybrid system would be around 400 horsepower. However, there is still speculation that the Supra could offer a 3.5 -liter hybrid six-cylinder, a similar unit to the upcoming Acura NSX .

The successor to the Toyota Supra will be produced in cooperation with the Munich brand BMW , with whom Toyota signed a partnership agreement for the production of sports cars. The upcoming Supra will be built on a revised platform from the GT86 and will also provide modified suspension from BMW. The chief engineer of the GT86 , Tetsuya Tada , confirmed: "We want to start production of the new Supra as soon as possible".

We don't yet know what the new sports car will look like, but it is likely that the design will be taken from the FT-HS concept study . According to revealed speculations, it is possible that the modern legend concept will be presented at this year's Tokyo Motor Show .
