Plymouth Prowler with eight-cylinder SRT8

The decade 1990-2000 may one day be called the pioneer of retro style. Plymouth with its Prowler model can be included among the first brands that used old shapes and modern technology . The aggressive-looking, exposed-wheel hot rod went into production in 1997 as the Plymouth and was discontinued five years later under the Chrysler brand .

In total, only 11,000 units were produced and all of them offered a 3.5-liter six-cylinder with 214 horsepower in the engine compartment, and from 1999 the output increased to 253 horsepower. Both engines were only available with a four-speed automatic transmission , which sent power to the rear axle.

Some owners weren't happy with the six-cylinder under the hood, so they turned to various tuners to give the Prowler an eight-cylinder. And now another owner has done the same, turning to Performance Innovations from North Carolina. In his Prowler, the six-cylinder was replaced by a 6.1-liter eight-cylinder HEMI with a power of 425 hp at 6200 rpm and a torque of 569 Nm at 4800 rpm. You can see the result of this modification in the following two videos.
