BMW has announced a recall!

The German car manufacturer BMW yesterday announced a recall for almost 1.3 million models of the 5 and 6 series, which were produced between 2003 and 2010. The reason is the problematic installation of the battery cable in the luggage compartment. The manufacturer wants to repair it as a preventive measure for all models.

The manufacturer further stated that ignoring the inspection call over time can cause fatal defects in the wiring or even a car fire. This threat affects 368,000 vehicles in the US, 293,000 vehicles in Germany , 109,000 in the UK , and roughly 102,000 5 and 6 Series models in China .

A BMW spokesperson further stated that the inspection and repair of the cable will not take more than 30 minutes. So if you receive an invitation to visit the service, do not hesitate and do so immediately. If you purchased your BMW 5 or 6 Series at a dealership, contact the manufacturer and have the VIN code ready to determine whether or not you are affected by the recall.
