Jeep also modified the top model Grand Cherokee SRT8

In Detroit , Jeep presents not only the modernized Grand Cherokee , but also its top version, which is sold under the designation SRT8 . It will offer not only the modernization of the exterior, but also technical modifications.

But let's start with the design changes. Like the base model, the SRT8 received new front and rear lights. In addition to these, the SRT features a black front mask, a different front bumper, a rear spoiler and alloy wheels. The interior received a newly shaped heated steering wheel with paddles under the steering wheel, a new gear lever head, a central panel with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and a 7-inch display in the instrument cluster.

Under the hood, you will still find the eight-cylinder HEMI 6.4 liter with a power of 477 hp and a maximum torque of 630 Nm, which is available at 4300 rpm. However, the engine is no longer connected to a 5-speed automatic, but to a new 8-speed automatic .

Of the newly added technologies, it is certainly worth mentioning the Fuel Saver Technology function (nothing more than the simple switching off of half of the cylinders at low speeds), the ecological transmission mode called Eco for short and improved traction control. Jeep also announced that it has tweaked the Selec-Track system software to offer up to five different settings (Auto, Sport, Tow, Track, and Snow) for both on- and off-road driving.
