Range Rover Sport 2013 – first details and illustrations

The world premiere of the British Range Rover took place in autumn at the Paris Motor Show, where the fourth generation of this luxury SUV was unveiled. Shortly after the debut, a sharper version of the Range Rover Sport began to be tested, for which we bring additional information and a successful illustration.

The Range Rover Sport is currently being raced around the Nürburgring , testing the vehicle's improved handling and suspension. Both the classic Range Rover and the one with the addition of Sport will be built on a modernized aluminum platform, with the help of which a weight reduction of 150 kg was achieved. The new Range Rover Sport will be available in five- and seven-seat versions , which adds to the practicality.

A total of four power units appear under the hood of the sportier British colossus:

– six-cylinder turbodiesel with unknown content with a power of 255 hp and a torque of 624 Nm

– diesel eight-cylinder with double turbocharging with a power of 335 hp and a torque of 699 Nm

– 5.0-liter petrol eight-cylinder engine with 550 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque

– hybrid-diesel six-cylinder engine with 333 horsepower (later in the menu)

All mentioned engines will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission .

The exterior is supposed to be a little more aggressive compared to the normal variant of the Range Rover , mainly thanks to a different bumper, a more sloping roof and a large, discreet spoiler. On the contrary, in the interior, carbon fibers will be removed on parts of the dashboard to ensure a more premium look. There will be a large multimedia display on the center panel and there should be a Harmon/Kardon audio system in the car.
