We know the candidates for European Car of the Year 2016

The final of the poll for the European car of the year 2016 (Car of the Year 2016) will not be held until next year at the Geneva Motor Show, but the organizer published the list of 40 candidates already at the beginning of the holidays. The Czech fan will be pleased that the third Skoda Superb or the Nošovice-produced Hyundai Tucson are among the nominees.

The conditions for a car to participate in the poll are relatively simple – the given model must be on sale in at least five European markets before the end of the year. Nevertheless, the Tesla Model X is also among the forty contenders, whose production is not yet in sight. Together with it, however, we do not know the final form of only three models – Infiniti Q30, Mercedes GLC Coupé and Renault Talisman .

From the wider list of candidates, which you can see below, the final seven will be chosen on December 14 . We will know the winners on the eve of the Geneva Motor Show, last year's crown was taken by the Volkswagen Passat .
