Koenigsegg One:1 – The world's first megasport!

Supersport? A toy for children! Hypersport? Trainer for adults! If you really want a man's car , you have to buy a megasport . The only one at the moment is the Koenigsegg One:1 , at least according to the manufacturer himself. And this statement has its justification, as it is the first production car approved for operation on roads, which offers a power of 1,000 kW. So 1 MW !

Christian von Koenigsegg started fulfilling his dream already on August 12, 1994, when he founded the company bearing his name at the age of 22. Fast forward five production cars and a number of Guinness World Records to the present. The manufacturer is celebrating twenty years of existence in style – by producing the world's first megasport ! And to make matters worse, the weight of the car is identical, so the One:1 has a weight-to-performance ratio of 1:1 . The low weight was achieved by the extensive use of carbon and Kevlar in the construction. The body also includes active aerodynamic elements in the form of front wings under the splitter and a rear pressure wing.

This Swedish beast is powered by an aluminum 5.0 V8 with sequential multi-point injection and four cams per cylinder. The manufacturer's patented process of 3D printing of parts gave rise to the placement of turbos with variable geometry and titanium exhaust tips. The power of the unit is 1 MW , i.e. 1,360 horsepower, at 7,500 rpm and a torque of 1,371 Nm at 6,000 rpm . Acceleration from rest to 100 km/h is not specified by the manufacturer for sure, but the sprint to 400 km/h is officially a matter of 20 seconds ! The maximum speed was not a goal during the development of the car, but according to calculations it should be over 440 km/h . A specially developed dual-clutch transmission and an electronic differential take care of the transmission of driving force. In addition, the drive unit meets the Euro 6 environmental standard. The steering is equipped with an electro-hydraulic booster.

The Koenigsegg One:1 has a claimed curb weight of 1,360 kg , which is split between 56% rear and 44% front. And thanks to the elaborate chassis, it can handle an overload of up to 2.0 g on road tires in corners, namely Michelin Cup 2 on 19-inch wheels at the front and 20-inch wheels at the rear. Stopping is ensured by ceramic ventilated brake discs with a diameter of 397 mm on the front axle and 380 mm on the rear.

The Swedish megasport is also equipped with a system connected to 3G and GPS , according to which it anticipates changes in driving conditions and adapts the chassis settings accordingly. It also includes a program that records driving data , which it then sends to a special application on the owner's iPhone. There are also electrically retractable windows, an alarm, a parking camera and more. The price was not given, but the planned six pieces are already sold out . The exhibition premiere is scheduled for the Geneva Motor Show .
