The obligation to comply with the Euro 6 emission standard is slowly being extended from passenger cars to commercial vehicles, which primarily entails a generation change or at least a modification of the drive units. Most recently, the Courier and Connect series of the blue oval underwent this procedure.
The turbocharged 1.6 TDCi diesel four-cylinder is headed for the eternal hunting grounds, which is replaced by the slightly smaller 1.5 TDCi with 75, 100 or 120 hp in the utility Transit Connect and the passenger Tourneu Connect . The Tourneo is available in the Czech Republic with two more powerful versions, while the Transit has to be satisfied with only the middle specification (the offer still features a sixteen -cylinder engine with a power of 75, 95 and 115 hp). In all three cases, the front wheels are driven via a five-speed manual transmission, or a six-speed transmission in the case of the 120-horsepower variant. A six-speed PowerShift automatic will also be available on request for the most powerful specification. As for the price, the Transit Connect 1.5 TDCi is only available in the Base Eco trim for 415,550 crowns without VAT, the Tourneo Connect will be available with a short or long wheelbase and with the Trend or Titanium trim, the weaker fifteen-seater starts at 567,563 crowns with VAT, the stronger is 31,460 crowns more expensive.
The smallest member of the Transit/Tourneo family will also comply with Euro 6. The Courier gets the same TDCi fifteen-cylinder engine , but tuned to 75 or 95 hp in combination with a five-speed manual gearbox. The price of the Transit Courier only with a weaker engine specification starts at 347,700 crowns without VAT, the Tourneo Courier starts at 448,184 crowns with VAT, or at 466,334 crowns with VAT.
We also have good news for fans of the 100 hp 1.0 EcoBoost petrol versions, which have undergone modifications and now meet the Euro 6 standard! This applies to both model series…
